The Between is a tabletop roleplaying game about monster-hunters in Victorian-era London. It's inspired by the TV show Penny Dreadful, British horror classics, and pulp media. Its rules are based on the award-winning Brindlewood Bay.

This situation is bizarre and exciting—we're still going. The backer train is 450+ people strong, and we're less that $1500 from unlocking the Unscenes stretch goal! 

We have 7 Hargrave House pledge spots open right now, so if you were thinking about getting those dice, grab one and help us hit this goal!

When does the train come to a stop? Honestly, who knows? Let's just enjoy the ride!

Hey, folks. Incredibly, the backer train is still going and the campaign is still active (!!!) We managed to unlock The Volatile overnight, and we're just $1100 away from unlocking Shrouded London. To help get us there, we've opened up a few more Hargrave House pledge spots (our dice manufacturer will hate that un-round number, but they'll get over it, haha).

We're doing this 10 minutes at a time!

Hey gang! We've been in overtime for the last 2 HOURS. We are desperately trying to keep it alive so we can unlock The Volatile at $250K. We're getting pretty close—about $3700 to go. Last Chance for The Between RPG!

This is our last update before the campaign ends, and it's directed at folks who are still on the fence about backing The Between. If you're thinking about getting this game at any point in the future, here are a few reasons to do so now. 

  • This is the best price the books will ever be. The retail price of each book is expected to be $45 USD, and The Gauntlet famously never puts its books on sale. You can get the books now at a significantly lower price ($30 per book in the case of the highest pledge tier). 
  • For international backers, this is the best price shipping will ever be. We have done the hard work figuring out the logistics to make international shipping reasonably affordable and customs-friendly. But that's only for crowdfunding. Post-crowdfunding, we don't keep any books in the non-U.S. warehouses, and so the shipping rockets back up. 
  • You get all the PDFs, even if you only pledge for a single physical book. In the future, you're only entitled to the PDF of the physical book you buy. 
  • Your pledge will help make an already amazing game even better. You're getting a ton of value here, even without the TWENTY stretch goals we've unlocked. We have a chance of unlocking more, but only if you get onboard.

The Informals Unlocked! 48 hours to go!

We have unlocked The Informals playbook! The Informals, along with the other 19 achievements we've unlocked, will be made available to everyone who backs the project.

We have 48 hours remaining! Right now we're trying to unlock The Underground & The Queen of Hearts, which is a new playbook and Mastermind for the game, each steeped in the dream-like land of Reverie. Head over to The Gauntlet Discord server and find the channel for The Between. Jason has shared the draft documents for The Underground & The Queen of Hearts so you can see what they will be like should we be able to add them to Shadow Society.
